I'm
Stephanie, wife and mom of two teens and the stepmom of three older children.
My husband, Lowell, and I live in Naples, Florida with two Welsh Terriers,
two cats, two zebra finches, several turtles and innumerable fish and frogs
in our backyard lily pond. I love using my Sony Mavica to take photos in
my back yard and use them in collages and other fantasy images.
My latest love is making characters for Poser. My 3D Poser characters are presently available at Daz3D, Renderosity, PoserPros and Faerie Dreams. You can buy them all from me directly via my Store, or from my stores at Daz3D, PoserPros, Renderosity and Faerie Dreams.
I earned MS and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Tech. I recently transitioned from 15 years of private practice to occasional consultations only. My main interest for a number of years was making graphics, particularly with PhotoImpact, about which I have a tutorials site. More recently I've become very interested in making 3D faeries, sprites and other magical creatures and creating photorealistic skin and eye textures for them. You will most likely find me hanging around in the FaerieWylde forum.
I have done a fair share of freelance writing, including a book review column, popular magazine articles and part of a children's book about the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. I'm the proprietor of East of the Sun Publishing, LLC, a small publishing business which sells my three PhotoImpact books and my tutorials CD's, as well as my husband's book for young people, "The Panther and The Windigo."
I'm also an enthusiastic arts and crafter. I love making handmade soap and have opened Sea Sprite Soaps to sell my beautiful, fragrant handmade vegan soaps. I love to sew, crochet and cross stitch. I am planning a line of cross stitch patterns made from my original artwork and I'm thinking about a line of cloth doll patterns. I love making old fashioned heirloom baby clothing with feather stitching and faggoting in the seams, adding smocking and hand crocheted lace. I'm always happy when a friend gets pregnant because I have a reason to make baby clothing.
I am a lover of old faery tales, especially East of the Sun, West of the Moon. Many of my domain names are variants of these stories. When I can afford them, I like to collect old storybooks with wonderful illustrations, especially the work of Kay Nielsen and Arthur Rackham. I'm also a great admirer of Pre-Raphaelite art and poetry, especially the works John Waterhouse, and of Dante and Christina Rossetti. I read way too much and have a very expensive book habit.
I'm inspired by everything around me, classic and modern art, and contemporary as well as modern fiction. There are all kinds of strange little 3D changelings living in my head that I've yet to investigate. I'm looking forward to creating some enchantment and sharing it with you.
